We know that the insurance system is difficult to navigate and so we are happy to submit claims for the services provided at Magnolia. Please update us about any changes to your insurance or contact information.
With any new patient registration, please make sure to bring your insurance card and identification information of the insured guarantor and patient. Even if our physicians have been your doctor for several years, you may still need to re-register as we are a new practice under a new name and tax ID. We will try our best to pre-register you over the phone prior to your visit.
Newborns are automatically covered under their mother’s insurance for the first 30 days. It is very important that you enroll your new baby onto your insurance before the 30 days are up or services provided at Magnolia after 30 days will not be covered by your insurance.
We contract with most of the major insurance carriers. It is important that you check with your insurance carrier to see if we are contracted with them. If we are not, you can still decide to be seen at Magnolia and self-pay at a discounted rate.
We are contracted with Meritage Medical Network HMO. Please make sure that one of our providers is listed as the primary care physician on your card.
We want to provide the best care possible to keep our patients healthy. This is why we do vision, hearing and developmental screens as part of the well child visit and as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. We do vision screening with a photo device at 1 year to 3 years of age. We use the Snellen eye chart to do a yearly vision screen from the ages of 4 years to 19 years. Hearing test is done yearly from the ages of 3 years to 19 years. An autism screen is done at 18 months and at 24 months. An adolescent depression and substance use screen is done from the ages of 13 years to 19 years on a yearly basis. Some insurance carriers do not cover these yearly screens/tests and so we would need to bill you directly for these uncovered yet important services.
We provide travel vaccines but many insurance carriers do not cover the typhoid vaccine. Please confirm with your insurance to see if it is covered. If you chose to get the vaccine and it is not covered by your insurance, you will receive a bill for the service directly.
We do have some fees. If you do not cancel an appointment within 24hrs, there is a $50 cancellation fee. There is a $20 fee for school and sports forms that are submitted outside of the check up visit.
We are exicted to partner with UCSF Benioff Children’s Physician’s Group for billings and collections. It is our policy that if there are unpaid bills beyond 90 days, they will be turned over to a collection agency. We will do our best to communicate with you prior to this to see if payment arrangements can be made especially if there are special circumstances that make it difficult to make the payments on a timely manner. The billing office number is 844-399-8227.
We will try our best to help you utilize your health insurance benefits but if there are services that are not covered by your insurance, ultimately you are responsible for those bills.
